Zakir Rose Garden
The pretty Zakir Rose Garden, named after India's illustrious former President Dr. Zakir Hussain, is Asia's largest rose garden. Spread over 27 acres, it is dotted with more than 17,000 rose bushes embracing 1,600 species and dramatic colour fountains.

Rose Festival, the three-day annual event of the City Beautiful would commence from February 21.

At the Festival, one can enjoy the sight of large variety of magnificent roses. Rose Garden, which also has a distinction of being Asia's largest Rose Garden has nearly 30000 plants of over 500 varieties of roses. During the Rose Festival, also known as the Festival of Gardens, there will be live performances, musical evenings among other events.

The Festival to be organised from February 21 to 23 would also witness competitions and contests, including flower arrangement, rose prince and princess competition, brass and pipe band competition, fancy floral hat competition, on the spot painting competition, rose quiz, folk dance competition, photography competition, Antakshari competition and kite flying competition.

"Also, to add taste to the visitors' palate, there will be a large variety of eateries, comprising different cuisines from neighbouring States," he added. With the participation of flower houses, locals, nurseries, gardens in the festival, the festivity will be enhanced among the nature admirers and visitors.  A prime tourist spot in the city, Rose Garden is thronged by hundreds of visitors from India and abroad every day. A large number of tourists and city denizens visit the garden in winter season.
